Do we come to school to learn or to think

When we come to school we ask ourselves, is it even necessary, I mean looking at what we learn, we can barely figure out how many people actually find the swirling electrons in atoms useful in the future and how specialist math can be applied to daily life. Isn’t school meant to prepare you for the future, then why do the students focus on subjects that aren’t even useful to them. Are they just trying to please their parents with their 99.95 atar, or are they trying to think that they are special to this society. No matter how we look at it school isn’t an ideal place to learn, it doesn’t prepare us for the future nor does it convey the ideology of how you can only be successful by being successful in school. Heck even some people wish that the world was communist, this way no matter what they do, no matter how much they fail, it doesn’t matter, to them the fictional capitalism that the obese Americans tried so hard to develop is futile. Compared to this the school is dealing more into the areas of your brain. Yes, how you think. Although in this society good scores are important, but the way you think ultimately affects the outcome of your journey that ends with the ground. Without knowing what to think about the right decisions can’t be made and ultimately leads to failure. Learning something doesn’t mean that it will bring success, but thinking in the right mindset can not only bring up moral as well as knowing what the best way of achieving something is. Out of the many schools out there, Melbourne High School offers a diverse amount of extra-curricular activities that promotes the student to think rather than to learn and help them develop a much brighter future.
